BRANDING YOURSELF IS THE KEY TO YOUR SUCCESS AS AN ARTIST.

I know, as a designer/illustrator/painter/collage artist, I think, “I can do everything!  I’ll can make ANYTHING, so why limit myself?”  As artists, our brains go in five directions at once, and we want to offer the results of all of these directions to the general public, hoping we’ll be successful SOMEWHERE and then we can show those people who thought we should go into a career that had 8-5 workdays in a 5×5 cube of space.

But why is there a Plan B to our lives?  Sooner or later, it becomes Plan A, because we assumed we would fail at what we really loved to do.  The world is filled with individuals living on Plan B, waiting for the weekend and their TV.

So FOCUS is the key.  What do you want to create?  Who do you want to market towards?  What’s your plan?

This is what I’ve discovered in my past few days of research before embarking on defining myself as an artist.  I plan to post the links I’ve found, helpful tips of other artists who are out there making through their web presence, and my own updates of how I create.  I want this to be informative and inspiring for those of you who love to be creative in all venues of your life.
