Fabulous Design

I’ve been on a thrifting/interior design kick for the past few weeks that I’d like to blame on:

a ) An new addiction to blogs like Young House Love and Vintage Revivals. You guys are keeping it real…

b ) Helping my father redecorate areas of his house & streamline clutter.

c ) My visit to South Carolina and to my wonderful friend Kristin & her interior design business. She graciously allowed me to shadow her and watch her interact with clients and suppliers. She is all kinds of wonderful for letting me hang out for a weekend & see her spin all the plates of her start-up!

My love of design. It bleeds into everything.

So I thought I’d give you a glimpse of the awesomeness of today that has me literally singing about my finds.

Ok, cannot save the best for last:

I was wandering around Goodwill today, resisting all my design urges and pretty proud of my self restraint, when this guy showed up from behind a few other pieces on a top shelf.

Be still, my modern design heart.  AND, turn it over…

So not only were my modern/clean design/white & yellow/organic radars going off, it’s a Jonathan Adler piece. NBD, really.

So after that, it was all over. As I clutched it in my hands, I found a few more plates for my plate wall and a white ceramic cow whose got the moves like Jagger (which I’ve been singing in my head since it played in the Goodwill).

And, finally, here’s the sweet chair I scored today:

I’m seeing a pattern in the furniture I’m attracted to…
Anyways, since I’m not crazy about the color, I’m seeing it white (can you imagine, with such great lines?) or maybe a dark teal. We’ll see, I might let it’s future office home determine that…

Oh, and just for fun, here is the ceramic cow posing on the new chair.

That’s all for now! What awesome finds have you discovered lately? Post (and link to a pic!) and let me know!
